Journée des Métiers Matériaux (JDMM) - 9th of February 2023
This year our team of 12 produced a new format compared to previous years, with Q&A type conferences in the morning followed by stands in the afternoon. The event took place on the 9th February 2023, and it was a resounding success ! Project Organization
The project began in October 2023, where our main concern was establishing a clear operation plan, requiring the need to define our immediate and long-term goals. Our main priority was to organize the event itself, requiring a precise schedule for the day, prospecting with potential speakers and creating promotional materials. As for our long-term goals, we strove to extend the impact of this project beyond the one-day event, which we intended to achieve through post-event communication and promotion. This will hopefully improve the project's visibility among students and professionals throughout the year, thus contributing to its future success.
My Role
During this project I had assumed a leadership position which allowed me to develop both my project management and my communication skills. Among other tasks, I had to ensure communication between our group and the school's administration, work with the rest of the group to establish an overarching action plan and make sure that the deadlines are respected.
What's Next
Even though the event is over, our project isn't yet finished. We are now concentrating on post-event communication, which includes gathering feedback from the participants, preparing promotional videos and organizing internal documents for the use of next year's team.
